In preparation for the permanent closing of its Times Square retail location, Virgin Megastore announced in a press release that the event will be marked by “the biggest sale in music retail history.”

“This sale will give our loyal shoppers one last chance to browse the world’s largest music store,” said Simon Wright, CEO, Virgin Entertainment Group. “We’ll be offering discount prices on items that might be difficult to find in the days to come, and we hope our customers have a lot of fun shopping this final sale.”

Since the Times Square Virgin Megastore closing will offer consumers significant discounts, staff members have been working around the clock to meet the anticipated demand, which will begin February 19, 2009.

The Times Square Virgin Megastore first opened its doors in April 1996.
